Carcassonne The Tower is the 4th large expansion for carcassonne. It contains 30 tower pieces and 18 tiles with tower bases depicted on them. During a turn, if a follower is not placed, a tower piece may be placed instead, this can be placed on a just placed tile with a tower base, or any existing tower or tower base. The height of a tower dictates its reach, when a player places a tower piece, they may take 1 follower within its reach as a prisoner, prisoners may be exchanged with other prisoners, or for a 3 point ransom. Followers may be placed on top of towers and claimed by that player, these followers remain there for the duration of the game and are not affected by other rules, such as the dragon, and are not able to be captured by other towers and are not able to be withdrawn, the tower they control cannot be built higher.
